It’s a new day, and that means there’s a new Wordle answer to solve. It’s a Wednesday, so you’re probably trying to knock out the puzzle before heading out to enjoy the second half of the week. What is the best word to start with in Wordle?

Often the best words are to start a Wordle with any that have two or more vowels, as this can drastically reduce the amount of words the solution can be.

We’re a big fan of using “sound” as our first Wordle guess, since it has four of the five vowels right away, plus the letter “d” tends to be a fairly common letter that pops up as well .

The New York Times’ Wordlebot 2.0 actually now recommends that players use the word ‘SLATE’ as their starting word instead of the previously recommended CRANE, although both this and AUDIO are still a great place to start if you want to mix it up every time. once in a while.
