Overwatch 2 lobbies collaborate to run ‘ridiculous’ battle for Olympus challenges

Even the gods are not powerful enough to complete these challenges on their own.

Overwatch 2 undoubtedly has its problems. Sometimes heroes are so unbalanced or broken that they have to be removed from the game to be fixed; other times, the in-game rewards trickle in too slowly to get the skin you really want. All this is reinforced by the fact that the game’s challenges are overtly difficult to solve. These challenges are sometimes so tough that they are impossible to complete even when imbued with godly powers.

The power of Zeus, Athena or Ares is also not enough to complete any of the challenges. The challenges introduced in Overwatch 2’s latest event, Battle for Olympus, are so difficult to achieve that players have begun working together to farm them. In an event unprecedented in Greek mythology, the gods – or god-like heroes in this case – have begun to cooperate in some lobbies to ensure that everyone can do some of the challenges.

As can be seen in a Reddit video shared by HuggyOnline, Lucio mows down an entire enemy team that just lines up for him. “Everyone agreed to farm the ridiculous challenges of Olympus,” the post reads. By the looks of it, the lobby was trying to achieve some sort of multi-kill challenge or an absurdly high kill count.

While the comments section was impressed, Blizzard seemed to know all too well that they didn’t want players to go past these ridiculous challenges. The highest upvoted comment said, “I can see farm groups happening and Blizzard disabling it somehow.”

However, other comments shared alternative methods to aid in farming. “Remember suicide (like jumping off the map) take one off your score. So everyone can farm for a full 10 minutes if you all work together and jump off the map when [you] need,” said one comment.

Some even reminisced about selfless players they came across in previous events who helped complete challenges. “For the Winter Wonderland event’s ‘Thaw 15 allies in Freezethaw Elimination’ challenge, a random Pharah joined my team and just kept blowing herself up so we could thaw her. I’m still thinking about that person’s generosity,” said another comment.
